HEPES 即羟乙基呱嗪乙硫磺酸（N’-a-hydroxythylpiperazine-N’-ethanesulfanic acid ）是一种氢离子缓冲剂，能较长时间控制恒定的 pH 范围。有效缓冲范围为 pH6.8-8.2。常用于配制蛋白提取缓冲液、细胞培养用缓冲液等。
HEPES 用于细胞培养时使用终浓度为 10-25mM， 在开放式培养或细胞观察时能维持较恒定的 PH 值。索莱宝生产的 HEPES 缓冲液均经过无菌处理，可直接用于细胞培养。4℃保存可延长产品保质期，长期不用建议低温保存。
