测定意义：
糖类物质是构成植物体的重要组成成分之一，也是新陈代谢的主要原料和贮存物质。总糖也可称为碳水化合物，包括可溶性的单糖，二糖以及不溶性的淀粉，纤维素，几丁质等。
测定原理：
总糖酸水解为还原糖，在NaOH 和丙三醇存在下，DNS 试剂与还原糖共热后被还原成氨基化合物，在过量的NaOH 碱性溶液中呈桔红色，在540nm 处有最大吸收峰，以此测定样品中的总糖含量。
需自备的仪器和用品：
可见分光光度计、沸水浴、可调式移液器、1mL 石英比色皿、研钵、蒸馏水。
