说明：甲硝唑（Metronidazole）是一种硝基咪唑类抗生素，主要抑制厌氧菌的生长，包括艰难梭菌和脆弱类杆菌。作用机制在于它是一种药物前体，能够选择性的被厌氧菌还原成活体形式，共价结合于DNA，破坏其双螺旋结构，从而诱导DNA链破裂，抑制细菌核酸合成，并最终导致细菌死亡。利用其诱导DNA断裂的特性，它可用来研究DNA损伤和修复。另外，有报道发现它还能够诱导猪痢疾短螺旋体（Brachyspira hyodysenteriae）产生基因转移因子VSH-1。
